Apple have released the updated iMac family. These will have the fourth generation Intel Haswell Quad Core i5 Processors onboard, with speeds from 2.7 – 3.4 Ghz . These speeds will increase when Turbo Boost is active. Prices have risen though from £50 – £100 across the range.

The new iMac’s also include the latest range of Nvidia Graphics cards Geforce GT 750M and GT 755M and the top of the range having the GTX 775M option. The entry level model. will have Intel’s Iris Pro integrated graphics (640M in 2012 model). which apple promises unbelievable graphics performance.

Also included is the PCIe based flash storage, which will give a 50% speed boost to Fusion Drive and flash storage.

Here are a few more specs:

  • A larger jump of processor speeds from the 21.5” to the 27” versions
  • 8GB Ram ( Upgradable to 16GB on 21.5” Versions & 32GB on the 27” Versions)
  • Two Thunderbolt and Four USB 3.0 ports
  • 802.11ac Wi-Fi.
  • SDXC Card Slot and Mini DisplayPort (output only)
  • Thin IPS Display
  • No CD Drive

The 21.5-inch, 2.7 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 iMac costs £1,149 inc VAT. (£1,099 last year)

The 21.5-inch, 2.9 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 iMac costs £1,299 inc VAT. (£1,249 last year)

The 27-inch, 3.2 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 iMac costs £1,599 inc VAT. (£1,499 last year)

The 27-inch, 3.4 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 iMac costs £1,749 inc VAT. (£1,699 last year).
